Details
WALCRETE is the trade name for masonry cement produced by Lafarge Malayan Cement Berhad. It is a homogeneous blend of controlled amounts of Portland Cement, plasticizing material and air entraining agent, inter-ground to a high fineness to give consistent quality.
Application
WALCRETE is an extremely versatile material. It is recommended highly for the following:
- Bedding and pointing brickwork and blockwork.
- Interior and exterior plastering, including pebble-dash and rough cast.
- Wall finishes due to its low susceptibility to efflorescence.
Its economics
Unlike conventional mortar which is a mixture of 4 ingredients, i.e. Portland Cement, lime, sand and water, WALCRETE masonry mortar requires only 3 ingredients, i.e. WALCRETE, sand and water.
This means that with WALCRETE there is:
- Savings in labor cost.
- Less wastage.
- Minimum storage requirement.
Quality assurance
In the manufacture of WALCRETE masonry cement, every care is taken to ensure that the product exceeds the minimum quality requirements laid down in Malaysian Standard 794:1982
